LSA Announces Third Year of MarketingBitz Bootcamps for Local Business Owners

Successful Roadshow Offers Not-for-Profit Digital Marketing Education from Top Industry Experts

TROY, Mich., November 29, 2016 — Marketing is more critical -- and more confusing -- than ever for small businesses (SMBs). Local Search Association (LSA) data indicates that SMBs now use nearly eight marketing channels to promote themselves, an unwieldy burden for time-starved local business owners.

According to a recent study by the National Small Business Association, 72% of SMBs said they were confident about their financial future and 45% identified marketing as an important growth strategy. Hundreds of companies are competing for the marketing budgets of local businesses, which are now receiving nearly 30 sales calls per month.

In response to this confusion and pressure, LSA launched its MarketingBitz Bootcamp series in early 2015 (and related MarketingBitz site) as an objective source for digital marketing education. The event series is now entering its third year and gaining visibility and momentum.

A one-day digital marketing intensive, MarketingBitz Bootcamps feature leading companies and experts in local digital marketing. Past participants and speakers have included Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Yelp, YP, ConstantContact, Dex Media, RevLocal, GoDaddy, Acxiom and numerous others.

In 2017, there are five announced dates on the MarketingBitz Bootcamp tour schedule:

  • March 22 – Phoenix, Arizona
  • April 26 -- Atlanta, Georgia
  • May 17 – Nashville, Tennessee
  • June 22 – New York City, New York
  • August 16 – Toronto, Ontario

“The MarketingBitz Bootcamp event is a great opportunity to come together with the industry to educate small businesses about digital marketing,” said Jeff Biesman, vice president at YP. “We have supported the program since the beginning and are honored to be a part of it.”

Session topics include the following:

  • Developing a Successful Digital Strategy
  • Boosting Your Online Visibility
  • Managing Your Online Reputation
  • Paid and Organic Social Media Strategies
  • Email Marketing and Your Customer List
  • How to Build a Loyal Customer Base

“The MarketingBitz Bootcamp literally has changed the direction of my business for 2016,” said Fee Gentry, real estate advisor based in Texas. “For the first time in months, I have some clarity, focus, and feel like I'm on a good path. The presentation content was worth its weight in gold.”

The program is designed for both digital novices and those with intermediate digital marketing knowledge. MarketingBitz Bootcamp also offers a complementary lunch and coffee breaks, the opportunity to network with small business owners and an expo hall for in-depth discussions of specific marketing questions with the experts.
